Residing in Eastern New Jersey, I am a 17 year old honor student recognized by the 2004/2005 Who’s Who among American High School Students. Volunteering as a counselor at Sr. Pat’s Camp for Cancer, the Jerry Lewis Telethon, a School Ambassador and my Church Youth Group, I have completed over 3000 hours of community service in the past 4 years. I also enjoy modeling, volleyball, horseback riding and computers.
I chose the education and prevention of childhood bullying as my platform because I am determined to take a stand against this terrifying ordeal. My immediate goal is to visit local elementary and middle schools to speak first hand about the affects of bullying. Being verbally abused throughout 6th and 7th grades, I came home in tears on most days. With a lot of determination, the support of my family and a few friends, I was able to overcome this horror. I hope to help children in similar situations, using my crown to enable me to speak from a "rags to riches" approach. I look forward to one day stopping childhood bullies, but for now, I’m eager to take it on..........one positive word at a time!
