Would you like to be the next Miss Teen New York International? Our pageant will take place on October 11th, 2008 in the Greater Binghamton area.
Heather Mackey is currently a junior at Marion Jr/Sr High School. She is very active at her school participating in several activities including Varsity tennis, select choir, show choir, musical, and drum line. Outside of school she is a member of the Towpath Volunteer Fife and Drum Core and a member of the Second Reformed Church of Marion.
Some of Heather's hobbies include snowboarding, drumming, and hanging out with her friends. One of the things she is most passionate about it musical theater. She has been in several high school productions such as Grease, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Cats. This year, she was honored to receive the award of Outstanding Supporting Actress by the Rochester Broadway Theater Group. She is a member of the Curtain Call Theater Group during the summer and volunteers acting in her church Vacation Bible School skits.
Heather is very excited for her role at the 2008 Miss Teen New York International and promoting her platform "Be a ROLE Model (Real Outstanding Living Example)". Her platform address the effects of negative role models, and encourages them to embrace their individuality. She has been talking to youth in her community and is looking forward to travel all over New York to share her platform.
