Arianna Buonanno is a sophomore at the University of Rhode Island. She hopes to graduate early with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, and Design and a minor in art. The platform that Arianna has chosen to promote is Breast Cancer Awareness. She has been an advocate of Breast Cancer Awareness charities since the age of fifteen when she found out that her mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Arianna, along with her mother and brother, participate in many charity events and work to raise funds for the cause. She is proud to say that her mother, Jane, is three years cancer free! Since being crowned Miss Teen Rhode Island International 2008, Arianna has traveled throughout the state speaking at various events to spread the word about Breast Cancer Awareness. She also coordinated a “Pink Out Night” for college students throughout the state who gathered to raise money, dance and have a good time for a good cause. Arianna raised an impressive amount of money that was donated to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation.
