Her platform is the Starlight Children's Foundation, a non-profit organization which helps bring joy to seriously ill children and their families through entertainment, education, and family activities. The foundation softens the hard edges of what a family experiences when a child has a serious illness, from the time of diagnosis all the way through, in the hospital and at home. When a child has a serious medical condition, everyone is affected. The kids, their parents and siblings struggle with the intrusion of the illness into their lives.
