Playing the flute and piccolo, Irish step-dancing, serving as Captain of the Varsity basketball and tennis teams, volunteering at Children's Hospital and in nursing homes, teaching English to students in Japan, and participating in the Latin Club, Toastmasters Jr., and Violet Club... these are among the hobbies and activities that Miss Teen Ohio International, Lisa Iwasaki, cherishes most.
She is often described as ambitious, friendly, and dedicated, and she is actively promoting the importance of higher education. Prior to ever becoming Miss Teen Ohio International, her goal was to reach as many students as possible, targeting 4th through 8th grade students with interactive, entertaining messages that will stimulate their own thinking and plans for the future; thus, bridging the gap between elementary and high school in preparation for higher education. As an advocate of this platform issue, she has been traveling throughout Ohio, and as far as New York, Canada, and Japan, encouraging young people to talk to their parents, teachers, and mentors about planning for higher education and career goals.
As Miss Teen Ohio International, she continues to broaden her platform base and message, emphasizing education as the key that opens the doors of opportunity!
