FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I receive a local title if there is no local competition? If there is no local competition in your area, titles are awarded on a first come, first serve, basis.  This is called “competing at large.”   How much is the entry fee? The entry fee is $650 which includes your opening number and aerobic wear.  Your entry fee also includes all meals and activities during the pageant.   When do I receive my sash? You will receive your sash as soon as your fees are paid in full.   I want to compete, now what? The first step is to complete your application.  Submit it with a current snapshot.  As soon as your application is accepted, you’ll receive a local/regional title.  A $100 deposit is required to secure your title.   What if I’ve never competed in a pageant before? No experience is necessary.  We are looking for a true representation of today’s young woman, so fresh faces are always welcome!   Why are contestants required to sell a program ad? If a contestant can go out and represent herself well enough to sell an ad in the program book, chances are she would be a good representative of Texas.   If I win the Texas Pageant, then what? The winner of the Miss Texas International Pageant will go on to compete against the 49 other states and countries around the world in the Miss International Pageant.   How do I obtain sponsors/sponsorships? Many contestants seek sponsors/sponsorship money to help them cover the cost of competing.  Please bear in mind that obtaining sponsorships is completely optional and has no bearing on scoring.  That being said, there are lots of different options when it comes to obtaining sponsorships and sponsorship money.  The most popular is contacting businesses directly, however, I’ve known contestants to hold car washes, bake sales, sell candy, etc.   What form of payment do you accept? We accept checks, money orders, or credit cards via PayPal.   What clothing do I need? You will need a business suit for one on one interview, a business suit for top 10 interview, an evening gown, fun fashion wear, and aerobic wear   What is Fun Fashion Wear? Fun Fashion Wear should express your personality.  When selecting your Fun Fashion Wear, choose as if it were to be worn on New Year’s Eve.   Where do I get my Aerobic Wear? Aerobic Wear is designed exclusively for the Texas International Pageants.  You will receive an order form in your official contestant’s welcome packet. Complete the order form and send it back to the Texas office.  You’ll receive your aerobic wear at orientation.  Aerobic wear should be worn with white tennis shoes and a white “peg” sock.
