1. What kind of BARBIE do you think you’d be?
My favorite sound is laughter. Laughter ripples through a room creating a joyful atmosphere. While working with the children at Friends of Kids With Cancer, I am reminded that laughter is the best medicine. Their laughter is music to my ears.
2. What’s the weirdest item you keep by your bed?
I would like to be a polyglot, a person who has the ability to speak several languages. The ability to communicate on a global scale would be an amazing talent. Conversing with people of various cultures would allow me to help others communicate and work together.
3. What cartoon character do you relate to the most and why?
My best habit is that I strive to be a life-long learner. I am constantly working to educate myself by watching, listening, asking, reading, or by trying new things. I welcome each day – opening my mind – to accept new challenges.
4. Would you time travel to the past or future?
Yes, I make mistakes. Making mistakes allows me the opportunity to evaluate and improve my efforts. I try to look at mistakes as a positive experience the same way I try to improve other life skills. Mistakes are opportunities; we must recognize them as such.
5. How would your parents describe your personality?
My favorite food is my obasan’s (obasan is the title we gave my Japanese grandmother) special recipe for pot stickers. They are full of flavor and spices handed over from tradition. When by obasan makes pot stickers – the spices fly, the sauces are blended, and pure culinary magic takes place.
